I was born in India, graduated from prestigious university (Chemical Engineering) in 1978 and came to US in 1984. Worked as machine operator in Chicago and moved to Dallas TX in 1987 and finally settled in bay area in 1992. I lived in Richmond from 1992 to 1997 and lived in surrounding cities. Worked for Bayer Pharma,. Berkeley for 16 years as Technician (Local 6, Union) Presently working as Lab Technician ( Local1021) in Blood Center where we process Human Blood products for life savings in a GMP facility. Out of my 26 years in US, I spent most of my time in Bay area and have met multi cultural community of this area. I served as Human Welfare Commissioner in City of Berkeley, Parks and Recreation Commissioner in Richmond and Community Services Commissioner for City of Hercules. I am involved in community services locally and Internationally, helping seniors, disabled, families of victims of crime, organized food camps and free eye clinics.

On The Issues: PEOPLE FIRST ( One Team One Dream):- I have experienced, politicians does not get along and there is no spirit of One Team One Dream, which hurts Common Good of our community. All people should be treated fairly in both the benefits and the obligations of society. Everyone has the right to the same treatment regard less of race, sex, religion, heritage, or economic status. All residents of Richmond must be included in the process of major decisions made by the politicians and it’s time for fresh perspective and needs new leadership.

VISION FOR ZERO CRIME: In the year 2009 over 45 Homicides took place in our city, which is unacceptable and some cases are not resolved yet. In year 2010 over 14 Homicides took place, which is unacceptable. We all needs to work together to solve this long-standing issue of crimes, burglaries, thefts, assaults and more. I have a dream that one day all Richmond residents havegood paying jobs with benefits by expanding educational opportunities, effort to reduce gang activities, promote community involvement, expand community policing. I will support our Police and Leaders in our community to improve the quality of life for all residents.

JOB CREATION : We all know businesses create jobs. Give incentives and reward to present business owner, so they can create more jobs. More new jobs can be created by private sector but government can play an important roll in establishing favorable climate for job creation. Targeted Tax cuts which are affordable and immediately impact key sectors of our economy to create jobs. Bring more green jobs, clean energy, Bio-Tech and expand Richmond ‘s role in preparing residents, particularly the youth, for these jobs.

IMPROVING & PRESERVING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD:  Keep local schools open and beautify neighborhoods through the renovation of foreclosed homes and expand library services.

PROTECT ENVIRONMENT : Minimize pollution at any cost, without compromising to big corporations who polluteour air and surroundings.

FIX EDUCATION : Increase Teacher training in Math, engineering and science, establish computer demonstration centers and training programs. Extra funding for English language learners and low income families. Put more control in the hands of local educators and parents.

My Richmond

Richmond is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States. Like all Virginia municipalities incorporated as cities, it is an independent city and not part of any county.

Richmond city government consists of a city council with representatives from nine districts serving in a legislative and oversight capacity, as well as a popularly elected, at-large mayor serving as head of the executive branch.
